Jennifer Lawrence and Lenny Kravitz Have a Hunger Games Reunion at the Golden Globes, Ju

Jennifer Lawrence may have lost the Golden Globe for female actor in a motion picture comedy or musical, but she provided some of the best moments of the 2024 ceremony. She went viral for mouthing “If I don’t win, I’m leaving!” at the camera when her nomination was announced, and then she generated more headlines for reuniting with her “Hunger Games” co-star Lenny Kravitz while inside the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The two actors starred as Katniss and Cinna, respectively, in “The Hunger Games” (2012) and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” (2013). As Cinna was Katniss’ stylist, the two actors shared many scenes together during production.
Lawrence and Kravitz’ reunion was the latest gift for “Hunger Games” fans, who recently turned the movie prequel, “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” into a box office hit last fall. Lawrence told Variety in June during her “No Hard Feelings” press tour that she is “totally” open to reprising her “Hunger Games” role of Katniss should the right opportunity arise. She added at the time, “If Katniss ever could ever come back into my life, 100 percent.”

However, longtime franchise producer Nina Jacobson and director Francis Lawrence aren’t counting on it because they feel Katniss’ story is complete. If original “Hunger Games” author Suzanne Collins wants to revisit Katniss herself, then and only then will the film team consider reaching back out to Jennifer Lawrence.
“If Suzanne has something to say, then she’ll write a book about it,” Jacobson recently told Yahoo Entertainment prior to the release of “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.” “Honestly, as much as I love Katniss, I think her story is complete. And I think that Suzanne feels that her story is complete. But if that changes, and Suzanne has something she wants to say, and it involves Katniss, then I would be thrilled.”
“The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” takes place 60 years before the first “Hunger Games” book and film, meaning there was no chance for Lawrence to return. The prequel was headlined by Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird. Zegler recalled to Kelly Clarkson on her daytime talk show about what it was like meeting Lawrence for the first time.
“We were at Paris Fashion Week for the Dior show only a couple weeks ago,” Zegler said at the time. “I didn’t want to be weird. I was just kind of psyching myself up to talk to her. She was so unbelievably kind.”
Clarkson threw to a clip from the event in which Zegler and Lawrence embraced while posing for photos together. Zegler could be seen laughing. What was so funny?
“In that clip, [Jennifer is] actually saying, ‘Let’s do another photo where I’m strangling you and saying you’ll never take my part!’” Zegler revealed. “And that’s exactly what I wanted from her.”
Lawrence attended the 2024 Golden Globes as a nominee for “No Hard Feelings,” but she lost to Emma Stone. Kravitz, meanwhile, was nominated in the best original song category for his track from the Netflix drama “Rustin,” but the Billie Eilish song “What Was I Made For?” from “Barbie” won the category.
